Drinking pure and safe drinking water is the utmost need of every human being to stay healthy. The water we drink is being polluted with many dangerous impurities that make it highly unfit for consumption. Nowadays, these impurities are most commonly found in drinking water that cannot be removed by just bubbling the water.

Distillation

Distillation is one of best water purification process to give pure drinking water which is free from every impurity. However, this technique utilizes a huge amount of fuel to boil and vaporize the water. This requires boiling of water in an enclosed container where water is boiled until it reaches its boiling point and begins to evaporate. The temperature is kept constant to ensure continuous evaporation of water. With the help of a hose or any other transportation device, the evaporated water is collected in another container. The process of distillation is highly effective but it is also a very much complicated way of purifying water.

Reverse Osmosis

Reverse Osmosis process is by far the best purification process that gives pure drinking water. Since water pollution is now at an extreme level, many chemicals and heavy metals can enter into the water making it harmful to consume. In reverse osmosis, a semi-permeable membrane is used which has extremely small pores so that no impurities can enter through it. Water is passed through the membrane by applying a pressure greater than the osmotic pressure to filter our all the contaminants and thus provide pure and safe drinking water.
